GOOEY SAVER CAPER

San Jose, California-February 15, 2002:

Ooey, gooey! A group of children from Hester Elementary School in downtown San Jose are about to become published authors. A few months ago they got together at a special workshop and brainstormed. They came up with a story about aliens on a gooey universe who learn all about saving money.

While ideas bounced off the walls, a facilitator busily wrote them down. An illustrator off to the side furiously sketched pictures to capture the children's vision. A photographer snapped pictures of the kid's expressions as their story began to take shape. Imagine their excitement creating a book for the whole world to read-all about saving money! Featuring a full-color cover and illustrations throughout, the book will also include tips provided by professionals on how children and adults alike can accumulate savings.

The group-authored book is being published by Illinois-based, WeWrite Company. Colliers International, the first business to step forward as a sponsor, hosted the book-writing workshop in their lobby in early November. Bob Shepherd, Senior Vice President is sold on the idea. "We definitely want to be a part of this project. Children can often teach adults basic concepts that escape other adults and, in turn, grown-ups will listen to their fresh wisdom. This book has far-reaching implications for people of all ages."

Hester Elementary School Principal Nancy Locke and her teaching staff teamed up with WeWrite to coordinate this unique and exciting adventure for their students. They see this book-writing opportunity not only as a chance to showcase their progressive inner-city school, but also as a perfect way to combine literacy and valuable money-saving tools. Children who participated are already saving their quarters and are eager to show adults the basics about money!

The book, expected to be the first in a financial series, should be in bookstores this spring. Corporate sponsorships are still being reviewed. To be considered for sponsorship of this project, contact WeWrite at www.wewrite.net or call 1-800-295-9037.
